The energy sector has been a significant economic contributor to the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. In 2023, the sector was responsible for approximately one third of the province’s gross domestic product (GDP). Throughout the life cycle of assets like Hibernia and Hebron, economic contributions have included employment, engineering and construction, research and development activities and significant royalty and tax revenues.
North Ridge Drilling is a member of the Energy Research and Innovation Newfoundland and Labrador. The collaborative non-profit builds on the foundation of safety to support the sustainability of the offshore energy industry through technology and innovation.
